Random April- Quilt is done!

It is the project that never ends...it just goes on and on my friends...some people started sewing it not knowing what it was and we'll just keep on sewing it forever just because it is the project that never ends..

Four years ago I was at Joann's with Sarah when I heard her squeal. She was in full Harry Potter mode and had found some cute fabric. We decided to make a couch blanket like the one I'd made Mike. She made the top and then set it aside for a could years. We inherited Mike's grandma's quilt frames so I taught Sarah the art of tying. It then sat for another two years. I figured it was time. I made the binding and sewed it on one side and then decided she could help bind it while we watched General Conference. It took the full two days, but was FINALLY done. Now she's not as HP crazy, so she may leave it at home when she goes to college. I don't mind one bit.

Mike and I celebrated our 19th anniversary and celebrated by doing a session at the temple.

Prom

Sarah and Steven went to Prom with friends. Steven wasn't supposed to go, but he assured us we let Sarah go, and should let him go. (We hadn't let Sarah go until she was a Sophomore but didn't confirm until after) Sarah was set up on a blind date by a friend and Steven went with his cute "friend" Braeley.

Estes Park with the Starleys

For Spring Break we decided to take Mike's parents and Amelia to our place in Estes Park. Andy came up for part of the week. It was still a bit chilly, but it was nice out most days. Lynette and I are in a family step challenge, so we took daily walks down by the duck pond and Audrey was always happy to join us.

Mike hadn't been to Bear Lake yet, so we we took Lynette and the kids. It was still frozen, so we got to walk around on the lake, which was a cool novelty. I didn't know if it was still frozen all the way across, so I wouldn't let the kids get too far out. The boys tried tempting fate a few times jumping off rocks and making me nervous. (Naturally)

Many of you may remember the first time we went sledding in RMNP. Adam hit a fallen tree and split his leg open. If you forgot, you can get a refresher HERE. The boys decided they wanted round two. They wanted to start off on the big hill again, but there was a warning sign at the bottom. Their mean mom wouldn't let them remove the sign, so they went to the next hill over, which was less steep. They had fun and there was no blood.

Leyla came up for a day with my parents and she and Audrey enjoyed playing. We also went to the mountain coaster which is always a highlight.

Happy Easter!

I know I say it every year, but I love Easter. I love celebrating Jesus' victory over death. I love the season of rebirth. My words are inadequate to express my love for the Savior and His incredible sacrifice and gift to all of us.

We started the day with church and I'm sure the talks were wonderful. Steven and I then went to take some new Temple wall pictures after which we had the egg hunt. We then went to visit Eric. We were leaving for Estes on Monday, so we chose to have a low key day and dinner.

Random March

Bridger slept over and they decided to make bean bags. There was no real purpose other than they were bored. When Steven got home he joined in the festivities.

The Isgetts came into town so we had Steven ditch school and we all went skiing. It's always great to see them.

Mike and realized that we hadn't been back to the Bountiful temple since our sealing, so we decided to do a session. It was a beautiful, COLD, almost spring day. :)

T Swizzle my Wizzle!

I tried very hard to get Taylor Swift tickets. I was on two computers and even opened a Capitol One Credit Card to get on their presale. I tried! Tried, and failed! I got really lucky when my friend, Trista Bytheway, got a second chance at tickets that she didn't need, and offered to let me buy them. I got two tickets to Taylor Swift for around $200, which was a great deal. I was looking forward to going with Sarah, but her BFF Eliza hadn't gotten tickets, so I decided to allow her to take my spot.

We left early Saturday morning to ensure we arrived on time. We had lunch and then dropped the girls off a couple hours early. This worked out great for them and they were able to buy their merchandise before the lines got up to a couple hour wait. It was crazy how many people were waiting all day to buy the official merchandise.

From what we heard, the girls had a magical time and it was all they'd hoped for. Harmony and I walked a ton, got some food, went shopping, and waited for the girls to finish up. We spent the night and got caught in Swift Gate on the way home. So. Many. Cars. Still, all worth it.
