Random March

Adam and Audrey are the only two kids that leave me surprises on my phone. I may not love it when Adam leaves 300 pictures at once (not exaggerating) but I do love the occasional gems like these ones of his belly button. I'm sure his posterity will want to know about his amazing, photogenic navel.

We bought Jazz season tickets this year and Mike took each of the kids to at least one game. Sarah enjoyed her daddy/daughter date.

Steven attended his first military ball. Since he's not even in high school he of course went stag, but he had a great time hanging out with his fellow JROTC friends.

My friend Emily offered Audrey this narwhal and I accepted without realizing how big it is. Audrey insists on sleeping with it in her bed, which is probably why she sneaks into our bed so she actually has room to move around.

RIP Mr McSnuffles, Welcome Rasputin

In a moment of weakness Mike agreed to let the kids get a hamster in the beginning of February. We decided on the name Mr. McSnuffles for him and we all agreed he was an adorable puff ball. Mosey wanted to make sure he felt safe, so she guarded his cage on a regular basis. ;)  He was involved in an accident that left him paralyzed from the waste down. He only lived a couple days after his accident and was later buried in the backyard.

The kids were sad, so we went to Petsmart and bought a new hamster. Audrey really wanted an albino one with red eyes, and still talks about it, but we settled on a small striped one. Skunk would have been appropriate, but we settled on Rasputin.

Tracy Aviary with the Millers

My sister came to Utah for a ski vacation so I talked them into joining us at the Tracy Aviary. My nephew Tommy is a fan of all things aviary, so he was in heaven.

Late start snow day

When I was a kid we didn't get snow days. It could be dangerous and to our knees and we still had to go to school. Our kid's schools have people driving in from around the valley, so we have more snow days than I ever got. (I don't remember getting a single one) On this day they called for a late start to give snow plows a chance to catch up. All of us headed outside for some snow fort building. Steven and Adam would pile on the snow and Roland would carve out the inside.

Audrey wasn't allowed in the fort for safety reasons, so she and I made a snowman that she loved. She watched him slowly melt and he made it three or four days before melting, melting, melting...

Congratulations Mike! - Delta edition

Mike has wanted to be a professional pilot since he was a kid. Becoming a military pilot was fulfilment of that dream, but he always held onto the commercial pilot dream as well. Mike was hired by Delta in January and had his Indoc (indoctrination) in March. I was able to join him at the conclusion where they gave him his wings. It was another proud moment. I love his current job with the Guard but everyone assures me I'll love Delta even more. Here's to hoping they're all right. ;) Congratulations Babe!
