Random May

The boys would occasionally ask to clear a spot to make a fire but it always caused a mess. We had a tree die, so we decided to use the spot as a firepit. Our neighbor Leif Nilsen gave us the perfect size fire ring from his work. The boys used it a couple times and then abandoned it.

It's Dinosaur Island time at Thanksgiving Point. Audrey has already gone five or six times. She's a huge fan.

Audrey has a friend named Jade that lives by us and can ride a bike, so she decided to give it a try and it didn't take too long.

Audrey's Dance Recital

Want to know what is incredibly adorable? Little girls dancing, that's what. Audrey decided to give dancing another try and has loved it. I don't have her official pictures back yet, but I took a couple pictures and put them next to Sarah's at her age. They are definitely sisters! :) I'll add her official pictures when I pick them up.

Both sets of grandparents came to her recital but I forgot to take pics with her and the Starleys.

Mother's Day/Birthday

My children tend complain when I ask them to go on nature walks, but my kids were pretty good about going on Mother's Day. Mike was out of town, so my kids stepped up. (Sarah made me a beautiful card, but was exhausted, so I let her sleep through the walk) My birthday was the day after Mother's Day, so I was well taken care of. I'm grateful for the five wonderful children that have made me a mother.

I've noticed more inclusive posts about Mother's Day for those that may feel pain or loss associated with the holiday. I've collected some of them and appreciate them.

Steven's Spring Larosse

Steven is officially a High School lacrosse player. His second game of the season, against American Fork, he was laid out and got a small concussion. It was right before Spring Break, so he didn't have to miss any additional games. He had a fantastic season and improved with every game.

Steven got called up to play Varsity against West High. (So it wasn't too much of a blood bath)

When they played West Jordan Steven took a couple slashes to the throat and had to sit out for part of the game.

I can't get Steven to wear a shirt and tie to church, but when the coach says it, he obeys. I guess it does take a village, and that includes coaches. ;) I'm grateful he's had this opportunity, it's been great to see him grow.

Tulip Festival

We continued our tradition of a girl's only trip to the tulip festival. It was a nice day and the flowers were in bloom. We were worried they wouldn't be out as much because of the colder spring, but they didn't disappoint.
