Happy Birthday DUDE!!!

On January 25th we got to celebrate the 5th Birthday of our wonderful little Dude. What a wonderful five years we've had so far! Steven came out smiling and happy and has kept on that way ever since.

My kids don't like surprises, or waiting for gifts, (I have no idea where they get it) so we let them have their Star Wars costumes early. Star Wars has become an odd obsession for my children. Mike has never been a fan, and I'm indifferent, but my kids LOVE it. Sarah is Leia, Steven goes between Luke and Darth Vader and Adam is a Storm Trooper.

We've decided to not do kid birthdays this year, so we invited Steven's big kid friends to join us for a night of fun at the bowling alley.

Matt, Jon and Adam bought him a Star Wars TIE Fighter set.

The Barrys, Greens and Cecils bought him an X Wing Lego set.

Although there was a party going on Steven wanted to leave immediately to start building Legos. Since we wouldn't leave he would intermittently sit and stare at them.

Steven decided to take pictures of the party guests

The guys promised to come back and help Steven build his Lego sets and they were true to their word. Adam and Matt came over on Super Bowl Sunday to help him build his TIE fighter.

While Mike's brother Andy was passing through on his way to training in Alabama he helped Steven build the X Wing.

We love our little Dude! These five years have flown by and we're grateful for everything he brings to our family. He is 100% boy full of energy, and is also a sweetheart that shares his bright smile with everyone. He is a smart little guy with a vivid imagination and I love to see the things he builds and the stories he tells. I love being his mom.

It Snowed...In Mississippi!

A couple weeks ago we woke up to a very pleasant surprise...SNOW! My Utah friends/family may not understand our excitement, but it doesn't really snow here, and when it does it's flurry's that just melt. This on the other hand was an actual snow storm. There wasn't a ton, but it was enough to close to schools and delay Mike's work starting time by four hours. It was wonderful!

All of our snow gear was packed away so we dug it out and went outside before breakfast, because we didn't know how long it would last.

Sarah and I teamed up to build a snowwoman

We had some help from the Holden's next door

The boys made a dirty snowman that rolled right over Steven :)

After naps we went back outside and the snow was melting fast. (yes, my child ran outside in nothing but a diaper and I snapped a picture before grabbing him) :)

The weather down here has been wonderful. As I write this, we had an almost 70 degree day. I miss Utah, but like I've said before, I am thoroughly enjoying my time down here.
