Random January

Six Months!!! Sarah moved to a new area and was SO excited about her new place. (and the opportunity to train) We looked it up, and thought it was the cute peach house. Nope, it was the rougher one on the left. I love how positive she's been while facing hard things. (Apparently this was from December)

Seven Months!

Adam wouldn't allow me to take a real picture, so it doesn't get a separate post, but he finally got his learner's permit.

Welcome to the Family Mikei (or Mykei)

Mike has traveled to Japan with the guard a couple times and loves the little Kei vans and trucks. I started looking for them online and we found a few through KSL and Marketplace. Due to the age, a lot of them had rust and we chose to pass. Then, we found Mikei. (Mike calls him tiny van, but I like my names better) There's a collector in Draper @microexoticcars that buys them and then sells them when his wife says he has too many. ;) We gave him a deposit without even seeing it. He was a great seller, because we've had questions and he's been able to answer them. Mike loves his tiny van and even put a train horn in to replace the broken horn.

Estes Park

Time spent in Estes Park is always time well spent. We hadn't been in a while, and Steven's 18th birthday was coming up, so we reserved our place over Martin Luther King weekend and headed out.

We of course spent a great deal of time at Coffee on the Rocks feeding the ducks. I think we made them mad this time, because Ashley's fam brought a bag of duck feed and we weren't very subtle about it. We'll have to start buying things when we go so they don't get mad at us.

The kids all spent a lot of time out by the river as well. The levels are really low, and mostly frozen, but we still didn't let the littles out without supervision. Many of the kids/adults wanted to do the polar plunge again. I haven't done it, and don't think I ever will.

We had a great time playing games as a group. RLC was a big hit. (What teen wouldn't want to play a game with a cash pot they didn't have to contribute to) ;) We also celebrated Steven's birthday with cake and ice cream.

Ash and I continued our tradition of matching shirts/sweatshirts. Yes, we're cool!

On Monday we started the day off by talking to our favorite missionary and then headed to mountain coaster. It was cold, but a lot of fun.

Airman of the Year Banquet

Mike wasn't up for an award this year, but we attended the Airman of the Year award to support his squadron mates. It's always nice to get dressed up and attend military functions.

Ski day!

We haven't had a great snow year, so when we had a decent storm, we let Audrey and Steven skip school and headed up to Park City. Audrey has improved a lot this past season. She's still a bit of a speed demon, but has learned to make turns and enjoys being on the slopes. Mike and Steven reported a nice ski day as well.

Audrey's Hard Head (The one where she broke the glass on Tessela)

Audrey is a gift. She's funny, smart, kind, and just a bundle of joy. After pulling into our garage she decided to bounce forwards to change the color of the Tesla on the screen. (she does this regularly) She had more bound in her step than normal and hit her head on the upper glass. Her head was fine, but the glass cracked. I don't know how it didn't hurt her, maybe her hair softened it, but she wasn't phased. Poor Tess had to take a trip to the dealer to be repaired and is good as new. Audrey-1 Glass-0
