Audrey's Spring Lacrosse Season

Audrey started her second season of LAX. Fall is a smaller clinic/season and spring is the true season. We are really lucky because her coach is also a high school coach, so she knows what she's doing. It's still a great deal of herding cats, but they get better each game.  She scored two goals in her first game.

Here she can be seen warming up. ;)

We celebrated Audrey's last game of the season with a trip to Leatherby's.

Happy 40th Birthday Ashley!

This past weekend (yes, I'm blogging on May 9th and not six months into the future) the girls and I drove to Estes Park to attend Braeden and Carsyn's baby shower AND to throw Ashley a 40th birthday party. I'm not going to lie, it's a little crazy to think that all of my sisters are 40 (even you Jess) when I distinctly remember 40 being SUPER old when I was a teen. Now that I'm almost 45, I've realized that teens really don't know anything and 40 is the new 20. (except my body doesn't really feel like it's 20 and I have a ton of gray hair, but back to Ashley)

Ashley doesn't like any attention, so we didn't do anything big. She doesn't like cake, so I made her some sugar cookies, which she loves. Ashley is the baby of the family, and yet she's become the beloved, nurturing sister we all wanted/needed. She is kind, selfless, giving, and patient. She doesn't think she's patient, but she is. She's a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, wife, and friend. Happy birthday old lady! Love you!

We went on a walk along the river and Ashley's boys fished with Dave for a bit. It was a beautiful evening. My dad is one of the kindest men on earth and when my mom's feet were hurting her due to wearing "cute shoes" my dad lovingly traded her shoes.

Tulip Festival with the ladies

We continued our tradition of the Tulip festival with Sarah and Lynette. This year Audrey joined us which of course meant some bonus Buehners, which is always fun.

Buck's Femoral Head Ostectomy

Buck had been limping for a week or two, so we took him into the vet. They did xrays and we found out he'd broken a hip. Poor guy! The vet said it could be from trauma, or a tall fall/jump, and we aren't sure which one. I'd had to think that someone hurt him, so "hopefully" it was only a fall. Rather than repairing the joint they perform a Femoral Head Ostectomy and take out the joint. Surprisingly, the ligaments around the joint compensate and he's able to walk like normal. I was skeptical, but I'm blogging from November and he moves great.

Our neighbor girls are SO sweet and made him cards. We love our neighborhood.

Primary Bathroom Remodel

We finally got around to redoing our primary bathroom. We considered hiring one guy to do it all, but we went with the slightly less expensive but more labor route of hiring individual contractors. It took longer, but we're really happy with how it turned out. Here are some before pictures.

Mike and the boys did a great job of demoing the bathroom

I wasn't sure what I wanted for tile, so I went to floor and decor. I loved a particular mosaic tile for the shower floor, but needed something for the wall of the shower and flooring.

Karl Zeeman started the process for tiling. He always does a good job.

Here is the finished product. We really love it. Our bathroom is still small, but it feels bigger and it much nicer.

Mike's favorite part is definitely the faucet with a pull down sprayer. Game changer! ;)

Happy 21st Anniversary!

Mike and I celebrated 21 years on April 21st. It was a very exciting day of Home Depot and India House. Since my 20th anniversary post was lengthy, I think I'm off the hook for this year's. Suffice it to say that I consider myself the luckiest woman in the world to be married to Mike. He's an incredible human and I'm grateful every day that he's mine.
