Random December

Sarah held a recital for her students. They all adore her, and it's not hard to guess why.

We continued our tradition of attending the Mountain West Ballet with Lynette. Audrey joined us this year and enjoyed it until her attention span was depleted.

We were talking about how much Steven looks like me, so we brought out a couple of my old pictures. I don't miss my boy hair phase. ;)

Sarah found an old picture of me and recreated the shot. She definitely wore it best. I need to add the picture of me when I find it.

Sarah got a job at Zupas, so we made sure to drop in and show our support. She was SUPER happy to see us. ;)

We went ice skating with the Case's on the 28th and a lot of fun was had. It was our only time going, but we'll need to go more next season.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from the ??? We didn't have a family picture I wanted to use for our annual Christmas card, so I used this cute picture Sarah drew. While making them, I somehow failed to write who they're from. Hopefully people looked at the envelope before opening them. ;)

We went to visit Erik and see the lights. I don't remember why Audrey isn't in the picture. She must have fallen asleep in the car. (It's April, so December is a little fuzzy)

Christmas Eve Sarah received a giant box and opened box after box until she had a set of dog tags with a little love note in morse code written on them.

Christmas morning we watched The Nativity, opened presents, and went for a family walk and found a sketchy swing under the bridge.

I love Christmas! I love this time of year when we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I love my Savior and the gift He is in mine and my family's lives.

Audrey's dance recital

I've probably said this before, but I'll say it again- Little girl dance recitals are adorable! She even got to meet Santa.

Winter Waltz

Sarah was a popular girl for Winter Waltz. She'd been invited by a guy named Brian, and planned on going with him, but the date got cancelled when she friend zoned him. (poor guy!)

Her friend Conrad, AKA Connie, then asked her. Sarah goes to a small High School (700 kids total) so her friend group just rotates who goes who to dances. Connie asked her (Need to find out)

Steven went stag with his friends, but I still made him let me take a picture.

Random November

Sarah made Eliza a Taylor Swift inspired cake for her 18th birthday and Mike "helped". (He's always so helpful)

We took advantage of free admission to Hogle Zoo and went with Lynette.

My parents came out for Thanksgiving and my dad and I ran the Food Bank's 5k. I'm glad we're still able to do this. My dad also got to utilize his fort building skills.

Feliz Cumpleanos Princesa numero Uno!

Well, she did it. She turned 18 and is now an adult. That child I brought into this world 18 "short" years ago is now old enough to vote and go to jail. Crazy! Sarah said she only wanted cereal for breakfast and her friend Eliza showed up early to make sure she was the first friend to wish her a happy birthday. Audrey helped me fill her room with a bunch of balloons. About half way through I got smart and brought in a pump.

Sarah insisted that she only wanted to hang out with Mike and I for her birthday. We went to Leatherby's and got loaded fries with the PB/Chocolate dessert and Sarah was SUPER excited to be sung to. She was expecting it to only be us at the movie, and insisted she didn't want friends there, but she was thankfully excited when 15 or so of her friends joined us.

Here is her last Birthday Interview as a teenager. I love this sweet, smart, funny, compassionate, kind and wonderful girl of mine!

St George Temple Open House

I love the Saint George Temple! It is the first temple completed when the pioneers got to Utah. (The SL Temple took 40 years to build) They had done some renovations, so they were opening it to the public before it was re dedicated. We didn't have time for a long trip to southern Utah, so we packed up the car and did it all in one day. It was a bit much for a day trip, but worth it. Gray Dancer even came and got to put on special booties.

Here are some pics of us at the St George Temple through the years-

After the temple we got some wiggles out at the Thunder Junction park, which has a train and lots of cool dinosaur things to play on.
