Stupid cat!

I know I shouldn't call names, but my cat has earned that title today. I was excited to put up the Christmas tree and decorations, but before I put any ornaments on the tree I wanted to see what the cat would do. Last year she was only a kitten, but still managed to knock off a lot of our ornaments and break quite a few.

I wanted to wait to see what she'd do this year, and here she is in all her glory. ;-)

When I came home from the Library today she had managed to knock the tree into the wall and one of the strands wasn't working. I've tried spraying her with water to keep her off it, but she loves it in there. Since Steven is still in the "everything must go in my mouth" phase, I don't want to take any chances, so it will remain w/o ornaments.

SO... if you come to my house this holiday season, please don't judge me on my lack of decorations, it was the stupid cat's fault. ;-)

Happy Birthday Sarah!

I kept putting this off so I could write a long ode' to Sarah, but that will have to come in a few days. :-)

This year the theme was Diego, and had I been creative like say... Larra, I would have made a killer home made cake, but I'm not. :-) We opened presents and had cake and Ice cream at our place first and then went to Jumping Jacks so the kids could wear themselves out completely.

Princess Sarah :-)

Then we went to Jumping Jacks

Adorable Whitney boys

And precious little Amelia, Sarah's cousin

While I was outside Mike decided to send Steven down one of the slides, and since he came out unscathed, he wanted a picture of it. Dad's do have their own style, but it seems to work.

Thanksgiving Holiday(s)

I'm a little behind on my travel-log, so here are a couple long posts.

It was parents year for Thanksgiving, but due to Mike's school and work schedules we couldn't go over Thanksgiving, so we went the weekend before. They live in North Plains, Oregon, and as long as you don't mind living without TV and a microwave, it is an incredibly beautiful and relaxing place.

On Saturday, shortly after we arrived, I saw Twilight with my mom and little sister Ash. You can get my take on it from a previous blog. Then my friend Corinn picked me up from the movie theater and we did some Christmas shopping. It is so nice to be able to catch up with friends when I visit my parents.

The most exciting thing that happened was Sarah's b-day gift from my parents. They bought her a kangaroo costume complete with a "roo" in the pouch. If you know Sarah, this means she wore it the entire time. She wore it to feed the horses, ride the horses, and even sleep.

She also loves horses and got to ride one by herself a few times and with Mike once. She learned how to feed them hay with the pitch fork and it was cute to see her give them treats.

She was also excited about her rides on the tractor. She used to be scared of it, but it's apparently cool now.

Steven had fun chasing the many dogs around and also eating dirt. Yummy! My parents have temporarily adopted my sisters Boston Terrier and Pit Bull(sweetest dog ever, but huge) so there were four dogs tales for Steven to eat.

We visited OMSI while there and Sarah had a lot of fun exploring the different science activities. I love these pics of her and my sister Ashley with the static electricity ball. (I have more pics I'm waiting on from my mom) Her favorite part was the flubber, which I found the recipe for.

We got home on Tuesday night and had a yummy Thanksgiving feast with Mike's family. For the 2nd year in a row Mike has made the pumpkin pies, which brings his total of things he can cook to 4. :-) It's nice having his family so close. We've only had to pay for babysitting once. (thanks Starley's :-)

Big Girl Sarah

Today is Sarah's 3rd birthday and she BEGGED to paint my nails because she is a "big girl" now. After she was done she blew on them and told me not to move them. She also said that they looked great and asked to paint my toes. I think I'll wait on that one, but she had fun. I'm going to keep it on for a couple days, so in case you're wondering why my nails look funky, it was Sarah. :-) (yes I know I have granny hands, I get them from my mom)

Mike's Manly, Marauding, Mischievious, Mysterious, Musical, Mid-town Mustache

Mike wanted me to show off the facial hair that only took him an entire week to grow. Sorry ladies, he's taken!

Steven News

Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks to all of you who make our lives so full. We love you!

Steven took his first steps today. He's been practicing for a while, but decided he was ready today. He can go about five or six steps at a time. I'll post a video later. (when we take one)

I'm a nerd!

Ok, I'm really a nerd. Sometimes I try to hide, but then I do something like what I'm about to do. :-)

After watching the Twilight movie I was a little let down, but I still went back and read most of Twilight and all of Midnight sun, and now like the movie. I want to see it again and maybe since I thought it was cheesy the 1st time I can appreciate it more the next time. I think I'll torture Mike and make him come with me. If I can watch every Jazz game this year he can watch a chick flick.

So anyways, I liked it. Kristen Stewart is the perfect Bella (though I'm still not her biggest fan) and Robert Pattinson is a good enough Edward. I thought all his constant pain filled looks were over kill, but I guess that's how he was in the books. Anyways, YAY they're making the 2nd movie.

Ok, nerdom over.
